Old anime that tells the love story of a vampire-werewolf half girl. Her parents insist she marry a guy from the Netherworld, but she is in love with a seemingly normal classmate, and of course there’s a rival girl fighting for his heart. Continue Reading Tokimeki Tonight – 4…

Venus Versus Virus episode 5 – dropped

February 9, 2007 at 8:09 am | Posted in anime, review, Venus Versus Virus | Leave a comment

At first this anime showed some pretty good points – interesting friends/love relationship, yuri possibilities and good action scenes – but it all quickly went down the drain.
I can’t help but compare it to the first arc of Bleach (before the trip to Soul Society), and
VVV loses by a landslide in all the important aspects – humour, character relationship, mysteries and fights. How the hell am I supposed to care for Sumire’s mind controlled friend if her previous screen time totals the whole five seconds? Attack on her “love interest” is the same kind – I don’t have the least bit of sympathy for him or her crisis, I just don’t know anything about him. Too much of previous episodes was wasted on 3rd rate fighting, and the main plot is simply boring. Not to mention serious plot inconsistencies that were in the third episode – like Lucia not seeing from the start that their customer was already dead and controlled by a virus.

Moonlight Mile 1

This anime hits the same vibes as Coyote Ragtime Show, although it lacks the 12 sisters fanservice. I’d bet it’s the same animation studio and at least half the stuff and cast is the same.
Plot summary: on the moon, some kind of moonbase is destroyed, and the lone survivor has to run 105 kilometers to be rescued. Her air supply is limited, and just as she runs out she stumbles upon a mecha unit. Unfortunately, it is not friendly. A huge ship lands and their commander walks out. Code Geass 16

Ugh, Mao,  why didn’t he die? Not good, creators-tachi, ordinary people tend to die after catching dozens of bullets with their body!
Lloyd was great: “why waste the time, let’s get to the marriage part!”. Continue Reading Code Geass 16…

Code Geass 15

First of all, nice finishing touch on Shirley/Lulu relationship from the earlier episode. Perhaps not everything is lost about this love pairing. BTW, Milley obviously wants some help or advice from Lelouch on stopping her marriage interview.
Second, Violetta. Although there’s a rucus about it, I don’t think some flashing tits mean anything much. Well, besides the fact that Ougi is surprisingly shy. Now that nothing stops her, she also has a chance to join Lulu’s harem, or at least the KnKD. It might also be the reason for Diethard’s future downfall.
Third, Suzaku and the scientist duo. A little more of their story revealed, and it might become surprisingly interesting later on.
Toudou and his two lieutenants are also alive, but their capture looks imminent.
And at last Mao and C.C. He quickly exits the scene with numerous bullet wounds, unless he is of the same species as C.C. we won’t be seeing anymore of him; she – gets closer and closer to Lulu, perhaps not as a lover but as a very reliable partner.

Castlevania – Aria of Sorrow

January 19, 2007 at 12:46 am | Posted in game, review | Leave a comment

Old-fashioned platformer game that runs on VisualBoyAdvance emulator.

Good points of such  games are pretty obvious and there’s no need to mention them.

One of the most interesting things is that the emulator provides two abilities that greatly change the whole gameplay:

1) save/restore at any time – greatly reduces game difficulty

2)  increase game speed x5 while holding spacebar – allows to quickly skip
through all those irritating sequences that you definitely
don’t want to see for the hundredth time.

Another winter show besides Saint October that borrowed Okama for character design.
The plot is simple, animation is decent, music – OK.
